Today is big day for Wale. Probably the biggest day in his musical career. Today Wale releases his debut album to the world and most importantly today is the day that he asks you to buy his music. A truly odd thing to occur in today music industry, someone actually asking the consumer to pay for their work after many years of just giving it away for free. This has been a long journey for the man from the DMV and we here at InternetPopular want to tell you about it so that you understand just how big of a day this actually is for Wale. To do that we need to start at the beginning.

This Mixtape was suppose to come out yesterday but it got delayed a day. Doesn’t really matter though because most of you probably don’t know much about Idle Warship or how cool they really are. The band is made up of Talib Kweli, Res, and Graph Noel and is about the closes thing that we will ever get to another Fugees. This is real hip hop with heart and soul that you can listen too and just get lost in. The band originally got together to make music for themselves a year ago but have grown and started to meld together and now that are at that point where they are giving the music to fans in full. The tape is free all you have to do is click on that link below and download. Enjoy and if you like it tell your friends and help spread good music.

CNN sets up what this is all about really well so I won’t go to in-depth on this. Basically this is a really good video that you should watch about Nas talking in regards to the medias portrayal of hip hop in young culture. It’s part of that ongoing debate that hip hop is breeds violence along with video games and movies. Really interesting stuff and only a couple minuets long.

It has been awhile since a good mash up MixTape has hit the streets but leave it to Mick Boogie to come out with something when no one was looking for it. On this MixTape Mick Boogie gets together with some of his friends and work over some Peter, Bjorn and John material. Two very different genres of music coming together on this one to make a really interesting CD that has a collection of songs that range from up and positive to dark and grimey. This is a tape that you should download if you like folk rock or hip hop…or if you are like me and like them both. The track list is after the download link below.

Here is the first single off of the Kidz In The Hall’s upcoming album Land Of Make Believe. The song is called Flickin and while it has some auto-tune in it, it uses it properly which minimally. This is one of those songs that you play in the car when you are heading out with your friends or your girl. It has that beat that is perfect for the streets.

Okay So we have been M.I.A. last week but we are back on our grind now that we have gotten our GYDS. We were thinking that since we are making what feels like a mini come back we thought on this edition of Music Monday we would give you something from one of the best artist to ever leave and then come back, Dr. Dre. The doc made the chronic and then waited for what seems like forever to drop his second album The Chronic 2001, then he left again making us wait for his upcoming album Detox. Which when it comes out will probably blow the shit out of every other producer made albums. So that is what we were thinking of doing today, it’s our return from our mini summer vacation and we want to bring it on back with the Doc.

Today on The Daily Track we have De La Soul ft. Butta Verses with the song called No. Honestly if you have never heard this song you should just give it a try. It is a really good Hip Hop song that goes unnoticed in today’s pop culture world. Take four minuets and thirty four seconds and chill on this and I’m sure you will enjoy it to say the least.
